The Value and Uniqueness of the MS Accounting
The Master of Science in Accounting - specialization in Tax at the Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business (OCOB) is a one-year intensive tax program that prepares its graduates for a career in federal, state or local taxation with a public accounting firm, industry, or a state or federal governmental tax agency. The program will provide successful graduates with an understanding of diverse aspects of multi-state and federal taxation, and facilitate the graduate's transition to a professional tax practice. The program also seeks to enhance a graduate's oral and written communication skills. Each graduate must complete a 9-quarter unit tax internship during the winter quarter of the academic year consistent with Cal Poly's educational philosophy of "learn by doing".
